Overriding the Unsubscribe

If someone has hit unsubscribe on one email account, but then asks us to send email to another email account, how do I override the unsubscribe?

UPDATE March 2017:

Emily, it is not possible to manually override the unsubscribe. The best option is to have your supporter sign up on your website. Create a signup page where they can use their additional email address to subscribe to your email list. This will create a second profile for them, but this is the only way to accomplish what you are looking to do.

Jessica – She can use one of the three. The email that she signs up with will become her primary email and be opted back in.

Jason – she actually does have a donation attached through that profile. She had three emails attached to this profile, all are now unsubscribed. Does she need to use a whole new email to sign up or can she try one of the three again?

Jessica – There is likely another reason that profile can’t be deleted (e.g. it has another piece of information attached to it that prevents deletion, like a donation). Have you tried having her sign back up for emails on the public site?

I have one who also un-subscribed by accident and we can’t even delete her from the system to start over. There is no “delete” button in her profile (only a “ban” button) and if you do a search, you can try to delete her name there, but then a message pops up that she can’t be deleted. She wants the emails. HELP!

Marion – right now that is not possible. You would need to start a new profile with the new email address.

The official answer does not seem to answer the original question. Once a person has unsubscribed using one email how do we then subscribe them using a NEW or DIFFERENT email address without creating another record?

In doing so you lose all the information about that person. You should be able to override.

This has worked for me but in another instance I cannot effect the Receive Emails checkbox. It remains unchecked and crossed out and this person really DOES want email and unsubscribed by accident. Help!
