On March 29, we had the great honor of partnering with the International Visitors Council of Los Angeles (IVCLA) to host “Perseverance Through Adversity: 2018 Women of Courage” at our LA headquarters. This breakfast and illuminating discussion panel brought together six of the 2018 recipients of the Secretary of State’s International Women of Courage award—extraordinary women from around the globe who have demonstrated exceptional and courageous leadership in advocating for peace, human rights, women’s empowerment, and more.

Our CEO, Lea Endres, moderated a candid and moving panel discussion with Aiman Umarova, an accomplished lawyer making great strides for human rights in Kazakhstan, and Dr. Feride Rushiti, the groundbreaking founder and executive director of the Kosovo Center for the Rehabilitation of Torture Victims. Take a look at the full gallery of photos and learn more about their work by reading their inspiring biographies here.
