How can I get my Facebook photo on my nb profile page?

Official response from

Your avatar image in NationBuilder (on both your public profile and in the control panel) is pulled in from linked social media accounts in this order of preference:

1. Twitter
2. Facebook
3. LinkedIn

Updating your default Twitter photo to be the same as your Facebook photo or unlinking your Twitter account from your NationBuilder profile would both accomplish your end goal.

    This still seems to be an issue; I’m surprised at how degraded the thumbnails are after being dragged through the third-party system. Ian, where should your code go to be properly put into effect? Thanks for putting that together!

    Hi, I should have posted this before, but I found that my image updated when I shut down and restarted my computer ie. The cache must have needed that to update . It did not update when the computer was left on standby.

    Um. That’s it? This is how it is. Why not admit that someone coded this a long time ago, and it is not worth your time or effort to fix it so we, or (gasp!) the user can select which photo to use on the profile? Maybe an intern could do it? A Summer of Code thing? Someone’s kid brother? Anyone?

    HI guys, that’s a reasonable system I suppose, but my problem is that the photo pulled for my Profile is my OLD Twitter photo, not my current one. How should I fix this?

    Well some good news for me on this issue at least. After about 4-6 weeks it has finally been refreshed.

    I guess a nice enhancement request would be some sort of warning to the user that it can take a few months to update your avatar from twitter and to ensure that you have updated it before you make the first connection.

    Matthew — NationBuilder actually leverages a third-party image management service to render these avatars, and the caching and updating is managed on their end. I’m sorry, but I can’t say for sure how often or at what frequency the photos are updated.

    So how often does this background update process runs? We are getting complaints from members within our nation and it is affecting our relationship with them. I notice it has been over a week and mine still has not updated.

    Hey Matthew — When you are first added to the nation, the database caches your avatar locally. Avatars are updated periodically in the background, but that update does not happen immediately — and there is no way to manually force the update at this time.

    For some reason the default egg avatar shown in NationBuild is not replaced when I updated my avatar in Twitter. How can I force NationBuilder to re-read the avatar from Twitter?
