Six years ago, in a conference room in Las Vegas, 100 passionate individuals came together with a shared vision: to create a movement that would give a voice to those in mental health and substance recovery. From that initial meeting, Mobilize Recovery was born. Over the years, this grassroots initiative has grown into a powerful movement, fostering community listening spaces, supporting political and legislative action, and honoring the strength and resilience of those in recovery.

At the heart of Mobilize Recovery is a commitment to uplifting individuals through acts of service. Each year, their efforts culminate in the Mobilize Recovery Day of Service campaign—a nationwide event where people in recovery and their allies come together to create positive change. Anyone can register to host an event tailored to their community’s needs anywhere in the world. As the organization expanded, so did the spreadsheets and data collection and management. They had asked themselves a hard question: How do you effectively organize and mobilize a global movement with limited resources and a small, overextended team? 

As time went by the team struggled to keep up with the various administration tasks of event registration, volunteer coordination, and communication with supporters. The impact of their day of service was undeniable.  In 2023 alone, they collaborated with 37 different partner organizations with 2,197 individuals signed up to serve and trained over 1,500 advocates. 

This coming year, Mobilize Recovery is set to take their impact to new heights by expanding their campaign to a full month of service. This extended timeframe will not only make their efforts more accessible but also amplify their reach and effectiveness. With the right tools, they can scale their operations, engage a wider community, and create an even greater ripple of positive change across the nation. 

And they’re taking their mission on the road with an 18-stop bus tour, reaching communities they’ve never been to before. This tour will host everything from round-table discussions with policymakers to full-scale celebrations for communities in recovery. And with data-driven insights, streamlined volunteer management, and enhanced event promotion capabilities, they are poised to make an even bigger impact and inspire more people to join their cause.
