Who uses NationBuilder? Is it only for political campaigns and non-profits?
A:
Our initial focus has been on activists, political campaigns, non-profits and advocacy groups, but we hope all kinds of independent leaders and creators like authors, filmmakers, musicians, artists, journalists, small businesses and churches will find NationBuilder useful.
We are also completely non-partisan. We only state this because most tools used in the political world are only available to one side or the other, which we think is wrong. The tools of democracy should be available to everyone, and we are deeply committed to that.

The primary purpose is for when you set up payment processing and donation pages, federal candidates have different requirements than charities, for instance. And the info is needed by some payment processors.
So, for what purpose do we select Organization Type?
Joseph- Political campaigns with the campaign addon have a few different features, NationBuilder just becomes more aware of campaign donation limits, election cycles and things of that sort.
Aside from that, everyone has access to all the features, unless there is some country restriction (like text messaging doesn’t work yet outside the U.S. and Canada). Even things like U.S. voter registration we don’t restrict because even musicians can register people to vote or start a petition.

Do feature sets change based on organization type selected? If so, what are the differences between types?
