Displaying a youtube video in a blog post?

I am trying to display a youtube video in this blogpost, and it isn't displaying. I though I just needed to input the URL, but that didn't work. Here's the link: http://www.actionnc.org/battles_over_voter_photo_id_laws_come_to_a_head

Make sure the YouTube URL is on its own line, and that it is not linked. If it’s still not embedding, click the HTML button and make sure no HMTL is wrapping the URL (such as a div or p tag).

I see this is an old post, but I built this site last December, 2013: http://www.ferreeforcongress.com/ and I’m having this same issue with the blog. I tried putting the link on a line by itself separated by <p> tags and it looked fine in the Blog editor and tells me there that it’s embedded, but then when I go to the live site, the link just shows up like text, and all the break and P tags are ignored. It is all on one line of text. It’s like the HTML tags are being overridden? </p>

Does the embed work for the new youtube video links? the youtu.be ones? I cannot get those to work at all. I generally have to convert it into the old youtube.com/watch?v= type links.

I get so frustrated trying to put the youtube video in. I’ve made sure its on it its own line with no html wrapping and it still doesn’t embed.

I’m having the same issue. I post the link into the blog content and it just shows up as a link not as an embed. Is there something I am missing?

It was more like, Embedly never even had a concept of an API key until some point recently, I don’t know exactly when, because they never told anyone. And then within the last couple days they started to require an API key, which we didn’t have and it started breaking for everyone on NationBuilder. But yes, it is fixed now.

Felicia, we updated our Embedly API key and the YouTube embed should be converting properly now.
