The changes should appear immediately. Try clearing your cache or using another browser and double check your CSS. Also, NationBuilder has a built in image slider which doesn't require customizing any CSS or jQuery. When editing the page where you want the slider to appear, click the "Featured content sliders" button. Then simply set the label, headline and page you wish the image to link to and upload the image. Do this for as many slides as you want.
