I'm looking for a way (for example) to have volunteers to enter details about themselves that would show up somewhere like their bio section.
Question should read" How do I get MORE information (not for)
I'm not sure when you say 'bio' you want this to be public or not.
If you want the information to be listed publicly, then you can enable public profiles on your site. This will allow your supporters to log in and personalize the information that is displayed about them. You can read more about this here - https://nationbuilder.com/utilize_public_profiles
If you want the information to be just stored in your control panel, not available to the public, then you can use action pages to achieve this. You could use a survey page to ask multiple questions, or a volunteer page to allow your supporter to indicate how they would like to help your campaign.
You can set in your signup page settings which page they should be shown next. You can also add links to the autoresponse of your signup page. You can read more about pages here - https://nationbuilder.com/how_pages_work

What I am hoping for is a spot for the volunteer to write a note about themselves. For example they might be good for heavy lifting, they have stage management experience, etc. Ultimately this information would be visible when I search for their chosen tags and select the area I’m going to assign them to volunteer in.
Thanks!
