The Founding Leader plan is an entirely new option we’ve created with a lot of love for the customers who have been with us the longest. It offers all the features of our most robust plan type for just $40 more a month (5% of the cost). So, you’ll keep everything in your current plan, and add everything from advanced trend dashboards to automated email series and A/B testing; from unlimited memberships to more websites and custom fields. Most importantly, we’ll automatically add all our most exciting feature releases to your Founding Leader plan going forward.

You can upgrade by logging into your nation and going to your account profile in the upper right-hand corner of your control panel. From there, you can select Contacts and Billing > Plan and you’ll be able to choose the Founding Leader plan.

The Founding Leader plan was created specifically for customers who have been with us for over five years and are currently on an outdated Leader Legacy plan. The power of our software has grown immensely since 2015 and we want to make sure the people who got us where we are today can take advantage of that. This plan is intended to be a thank you to our founding customers who have stuck with us through ups and downs of all kinds, and who are part of why NationBuilder exists today. Being with us since our earliest days shouldn’t mean being frozen in time - it should mean growing with us, forever! That’s the spirit and intention behind the Founding Leader plan.

The Leader Legacy plan is a plan type we created in 2015 for customers who preferred to stay on their current plan rather than upgrade to the new plan types being released alongside new features at the time. Customers who chose not to upgrade were able to keep their original pricing on the Leader Legacy plan type, but this also meant not receiving access to new product features or enhancements in the many years following 2015. We created the new Founding Leader plan to allow our founding customers access the full breadth of our platform’s features for as little as we could—around 5% of the cost per month.

In addition to the full list of additional features you’ll have access to below (while keeping all the features from your current plan).

Since we want to be able to offer you all the latest product releases going forward, your upgrade to Founding Leader will be final once you choose the new plan.

When you upgrade your plan, you will be choosing to add $40 to your existing monthly bill. Once you click the button to confirm, the card we have on file will be charged.

No! There is no pressure to do this. The offer was created out of a desire to make sure all of our “oldest” customers were able to take advantage of how our platform has evolved over the years—and to keep you current moving forward. The intention of creating the Founding Leader plan was one of thanks and gratitude, there’s no pressure whatsoever to switch, and nothing will change to your current plan if you don’t.

We created the Founding Leader plan because we wanted to get the full force of our platform into the hands of our founding customers—for as little as possible. The features available on the Founding Leader plan are those available on our most robust plan type today. But we didn’t want you to have to deal with enterprise-level contracts or four-figure monthly bills, so our first question was: can we afford to upgrade all our founding customers to a new plan with all our features for a fraction of the cost? 

We initially hoped we could do it for at least half the cost, but that didn’t feel good enough to us. The whole point was to make this feel like a gift, and so we did something crazy and decided to do this for all our founding customers for just 5% of the cost. In a nutshell, the $40 makes it possible for us to deliver the service and do all we can to support your work, while ensuring that we can keep making our platform available and accessible to leaders everywhere.
