NationBuilder automatically does matching on all the different IDs that are available, is this not working?

No, it’s not possible. There are both security and performance issues with allowing direct SQL access. We should have a conversation though, there might be some more generic way of accessing some of the data that through the templates that will make your life easier without having to go all the way to direct SQL access.

Gus is right, what you are describing is exactly what the Volunteer Signup page type is about.

You can copy the URL to your clipboard (right click then it will say something like “copy link address” depending on your browser). Then you can link to it from anywhere. The URL will look something like this:

It was more like, Embedly never even had a concept of an API key until some point recently, I don’t know exactly when, because they never told anyone. And then within the last couple days they started to require an API key, which we didn’t have and it started breaking for everyone on NationBuilder. But yes, it is fixed now.

Carey- We are very committed to email addresses being unique per individual person. I hear you that that’s not what you want, but we’ve found it’s the best way to ensure mass emails go to the right people and personalization works as expected.

A tip: If you put a + sign in an email address, it will ignore everything after that and still go to the original person, while still technically be unique. For instance, and would both go to

You can’t access page_taggings directly. You can really only access tags through page.tags when in the context of a page, or you can access pages when you are in the context of a tag with tag.most_recent_published_pages

commented on Advanced Search - provide a list of tags to exclude
There is a problem with the underlying search interface we are using that is preventing the exclude tags functionality. I totally agree it is important, but it requires us to replace that search code with something else, which would impact a lot of areas in NationBuilder, and it’s just not practical right now with all the other things that need to get done. We will have to take that plunge at some point as this library isn’t being supported any more and has this critical flaw.

You can do the work around you are talking about, just importing a list of ids… not as comma delimited , but if you make a straight text file with the nationbuilder IDs each on one line, you can just import that straight into a list. You don’t need anything but the NB IDs to do that.
