This is an extremely weak way of defining a supporter—any communication can be as negative as it can be supportive; if I get an email from Paper.li it’s marked as a supporter even though it’s effectively an automated service. It makes me think NationBuilder wants to inflate supporter numbers and consequently boost accounts to higher tiers of payment.
